Nowadays we want to be perfect. Somewhere deep down we know that perfection doesn’t actually exist but there is peer pressure from the outside world to be perfect. And their definition of perfect is different from each other. We love ourselves self but we get trapped in this and start worrying about what other people think rather than being happy with our own self.
Why we are worrying about what other people think?
It happens when someone else’s view is more important to us than ours.
There’s a fear of loneliness, rejection, and abandonment. Which makes us value other’s opinions. No matter if that’s a nonsense opinion. We don’t want to lose them, we don’t want to be lonely so we accept everything they say or do.
When we’re dependent, we depend on others for everything. We need their approvals and validation for everything. We start living our life their way; we’ll lower our self-esteem in the process hence we constantly worry about what other people think about us. If they’ll approve of us or not. If we’re doing it the right way or not. That’s how we get trapped in a vicious toxic cycle.
Let’s know how one can stop worrying about what other people think?
This will only happen when we allow others to make us worry about their opinion. So there are some ways to get out of this vicious cycle.
Focus on priorities
Focus on what actually matters. When you’ll concentrate on only important things you’ll automatically cut unimportant things out of your life. And it’ll get easier to be focused on what matters. You’ll eventually get out of the toxic cycle of unnecessary worrying about what people think. You’ll not be worried and anxious about random things.
People Hardly Care
You think everyone is looking at you, thinking about you only, noticing you. Then you’re wrong my dear. You are just a small part of the universe. Everyone has their own life, their own things to do. So you better focus on yourself rather than worrying about what other people think.
You know best about yourself
You’ve different life, circumstances, mindset, and choices from others. Only you better know why you’ve taken this decision or took that action. You know what is better for you not others always keep this thing in your mind. Rest just know you as a person, you know yourself as a whole. So remember this always.
Don’t ask for approvals
Don’t ask people how you’re looking, what should you do, and what you shouldn’t. If you’re obsessive about this stop this right now, start working on this. If you’re surrounded by people who give you an opinion without even asking then do listen but don’t get serious about that. You just mind your own business and do whatever you feel is right for you rather than worrying about what other people think.
No overthinking, please
Don’t overthink unnecessarily. Yes, I know this is human tendency to think and then overthink but remember one thing this is not doing any good for you. This is only harming your peace of mind. You don’t need to worry about what people think about you. Just think that does it really matter what they think about me.
Life is short be at the present moment
You know that life is really short. We don’t know how much time left for us. Do you really want to spend precious life worrying about what other people think about you? Remember every moment you are living is precious. Don’t waste it by asking other people and thinking about other people. Don’t ask other people what you want, ask yourself what I want.
Make a conscious effort and try to let go of what other people think about me. Stop worrying and take complete responsibility for your life.
